PENICUIK PIPPED AT THE POST FOR LEAGUE TITLE

The league title was up for grabs between Penicuik and Tranent with Penicuik having to beat Linlithgow Rose and Tranent needing to beat Jeanfield Swifts. Cukie did the business winning 2-1 but Tranent sealed the title with a 2-0 win against Jeanfield. After a goalless first half, Penicuik opened the scoring the 57th minute when Nicky REID curled the ball into the top corner of the net. Rose equalised in the 76th minute when Mark ROWE converted a penalty kick. However, Nicky REID got the vital points for Penicuik with an injury time header.
