PENICUIK ATHLETIC WEBSITE IS NOW CLOSED

The Penicuik website is now closed and will no longer be maintained nor updated. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has logged into, and visited the website over the last fifteen years, registering over 306,000 hits. Although I resigned in March from my position as Vice President, out of my respect and dedication to the club, I have continued to update the website until the end of this season. It has been a pleasure to design, maintain and update the website over the years and I wish everyone at the club all the very best and every success for the future. Common the Cuikie!

CUIKIE CRASH OUT OF THE LEAGUE CUP (AET)

Penicuik travelled to Humbug Park to play Crossgates Primrose in the second round of the League Cup. The home side took the lead in the 23rd minute when Brian RITCHIE headed home a Glass free kick. They doubled their lead on the half hour when keeper Robertson blocked a shot and Mark McKENZIE followed up to knock the ball into the empty net. Into the second half and Penicuik turned on the style scoring three goals without reply. The first in the 51st minute when Ben WEEKES lobbed keeper Hunter from 35 yards. Then, 6 minutes later, Scott McCRORY-IRVING rifled in a 30 yard strike to level the score. Dave EDWARDS struck shortly afterwards to give Cuikie the lead. Three minutes from full time, Archie CAMPBELL equalised for Crossgates and the game went to extra time. With penalties looming, Calum SMITH poked the ball home to give the hosts the win.
