LATEST TEAM NEWS AND TRANSFERS Manager Tonny Begg has confirmed the extension of contracts for all the players with the exception of the four players listed below and that the recruitment of new players for next season is well under way . W e can confirm that Sean Stewart has agreed a pre-contact with Berwick Rangers and will join them upon the expiry of his contract with Penicuik. Sean joined the Cuikie at the beginning of season 2019/20 from Vale of Leithen, making an instant impact as he bagged a debut goal against Dunbar United. He played a big role in our Scottish Cup run that season, bagging a hat-trick in the first Preliminary Round against Easthouses Lily, another goal in the 5-1 win at Cumbernauld Colts in Round 1 before sealing the 3-0 win over Stenhousemuir with the final goal of the game. Unfortunately a shoulder injury against Kinnoull ruled Sean out for what proved to the remainder of the season. He returned at the beginning of season 2020/21, starting our opener against Broxburn, though injuries would limit his game time in the shortened N&V season. His only goal of the season sadly came in the abandoned game against Whitehill. Sean leaves after twenty six appearances for Penicuik, scoring eight times.Everyone at the club thanks you for your time at Penicuik and we wish you good luck for the future. We can co nfirm that Craig Stevenson has agreed a pre-contact with Tranent and will join them upon the expiry of his contract with Penicuik. He joined Penicuik in December 2018 from Spartans and made his debut against Easthouses Lily towards the end of that month, scoring his first goal in an April cup tie with Dalkeith as his first six months with Penicuik ended with him helping the side win Conference A. During his first ‘full’ season at Penicuik, he made twenty six appearances and scored eight times, notably his goal of the season winner against Cumbernauld Colts and our opening against Stenhousemuir in the Scottish Cup. We can confirm that Joe Viola has agreed a pre-contact with Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale and will join them upon the expiry of his contract with Penicuik. Joe made his first Penicuik appearance as a Trialist in a friendly against Berwick Rangers in August 2018 but signed for the club a year later in 2019. He scored on his competitive debut in the Scottish Cup preliminary round win at Easthouses Lily before joining Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale on loan for the rest of the season, where he won the Conference A title. He returned to Penicuik last summer and made eight appearances and scored three times, including a winner against Tynecastle. During his spell with the Cuikie, he played ten times and scored four goals.Everyone at the club thanks you for your time at Penicuik and we wish you good luck for the future. W e can confirm that Callum Connolly has agreed a pre-contact with Bonnyrigg Rose and will join them upon the expiry of his contract with Penicuik. Callum made the move to Penicuik Park in October 2016 from Whitehill Welfare, scoring a debut goal in a 7-3 win against St Andrews United, going on to make fifteen appearances in his debut season. Season 2017/18 saw Callum play his part in Penicuik winning the East of Scotland Cup as well as securing their highest ever Super League finish. His third campaign with Penicuik saw Callum named vice captain in October as the Cuikie won the East of Scotland Conference A. During 2019/20, he captained the side against both Stenhousemuir and Patrick Thistle in the Scottish Cup before the season ended prematurely. In what was now his final year at Penicuik Park, Callum opened the league season with a double against Broxburn. His final Cuikie appearance coming in a 3-2 defeat to Newtongrange last December. He leaves having played 116 times for Penicuik, scoring 15 goals, an East of Scotland Cup and Conference A winner.
