Hearts equalised in the 7th minute when a cross from the right wing was headed home by Ferguson. Penicuik keeper Coyle then brought off a fine save to keep the game level. In a counter attack, a long ball was picked up by Young and his cross was partially cleared. The ball fell to Lindsay who slotted home from close range to restore Penicuik's lead. In the 18th minute, Penicuik should have increased their lead when Ryrie was scythed down in the box, but Young saw his spot kick go past the post. Minutes later, a miskick by keeper Coyle allowed Ferguson to equalise for Hearts. One minute later, Crabb grabbed the lead for Hearts. However the first half scoring was not over as Young rattled in two goals in two minutes, the first off a Lindsay cross and the second off a low Crail drive into the box. Half Time: Penicuik 4 Hearts 3 A number of substitutions were made at half time to freshen up both sides. In the 55th minute, following a corner to Hearts, a net bound header was kicked off the line and cleared. Then, in a space of six minutes, came a flurry of goals for Hearts. First a penalty kick that was converted by Hamilton in the 60th minute, followed up by another from twelve yards by the same player and in then in the 66th minute, Hearts legend John Robertson made it 4-6. The Penicuik Legends were tiring rapidly and with introduction of a couple "young Legends" by Hearts, Penicuik were being run ragged by the extra pace. In the 75th minute, Hearts should have increased their lead when No17 tried to lob keeper McLeod, but his effort just went over the bar. Penicuik had the ball in the back of the net when Bradford beat the defence to score, but was cruelly ruled offside. The scoring was completed in the 83rd minute when Hearts No 14 had the simple task of tapping home from close range. Final Score: Penicuik Legends 4 Hearts Legends 7
