This was a game
that was crucial to both clubs league points being a must. Prior to the game in their training work out Blair keeper Mark
Nugent pulled a hamstring with Gordon O'Brien sub keeper taking his place. The opening few minutes were mainly midfield play
but in the 7th minute, Blair outside left Darren Neave broke clear of the home defence, his cross came to Mark Brash who failed
to connect properly slicing the ball wide.
John Harvey
then took a hand in things for the Cuikie in 14 minutes, teaming up with Ross Montgomery on his left but he was crowded out
by Blairs Ryan Menzies & Craig Ferguson. Several attempts were made by the
hosts but keeper O'Brien was up to all their efforts. 15 mins before the interval another peice of good work came to nil when
John Harvey had bad luck when his pass to Dean Walker, who was in the outside left position, struck a defender on the way
a perfect chance & pass going astray.
The second half
was lacking in goals despite several attempts from both sets of forwards the respective keepers up to all efforts until the
precious goal came from substitute Craig Millar when he lashed the ball
into the net for three much needed points for Penicuik.
