off

but
his
strike
flew
over
the

set
free

slipped
the
ball
underneath

his

was
blocked

saw

fouled
in
the

Then
a
strike
by
Tansey
flashed
past
the
upright.
In
the

a
powerful
effort
by
Lamb
saw
keeper
Wallace
bring
off
and
excellent
save.
Four
minutes
later,
nice
work
by
Connolly
created
space
for
a
shot
but
Wallace was alert to the danger and tipped the ball away for a corner.

half
and
Broxburn’s
Ireland
had
a
shot
but
keeper
Tate
held
the
ball
comfortably.
One
minute
later,
Broxburn
where
awarded
a
penalty
kick
which
was
converted
by
KELLY
to
level
the
game.
In
the
50th,
Kateleza
had
a
chance
but
he
dragged
his
shot
wide
of
the
goal.
Two
minutes
later,
Devlin
replaced
Kateleza
for
Penicuik’s
first
change
in
the
game.
Then
in
the
55th
minute
Penicuik
regained
the
lead
when
CONNOLLY
fired
a
half
volley
past
keeper
Wallace.
Seven
minutes
later
Penicuik
were
awarded
a
penalty
when
Connolly
was
pushed
in
the
box.
Craig
STEVENSON
stepped
up
to
take
the
spot
kick
and
sent
keeper
Wallace
the
wrong
way
to
make
the
score
3-1
to
Penicuik.
On
the
hour
mark,
a
Gregor
Lamb
long
distance
effort
was
comfortably
saved
by
Wallace.
In
the
70th
minute
Joe
Viola
came
on
for
Tansey
and
immediately
made
an
impression
on
the
game
with
his
pace
and
guile.
Shortly
afterwards,
a
testing
cross
into

box
by
Forbes
was
headed
over
the
bar
by
substitute
Devlin.
Penicuik
increased
their
lead
in
the

when
Callum
CONNOLLY
drilled
home
from
the
edge
of
the
penalty
area.
Penicuik
continued
to
dominate the game and ran out worthy winners of the first game of the new season.
