In the  15th minute a good move by Penicuik was thwarted at the last second with a timely tackle by Williams. From the corner, White headed  past the post. Then Lough had a chance for Penicuik, but he couldn’t direct his header off a Somerville cross on target. Penicuik were  dominating play at this point and a Blaikie cross was headed just wide by McCallum. Somerville crossed ball back in and keeper Young  parried the ball away. Jancyzk then had a shot that McCallum flicked goalwards, but Young was well placed to save. Penicuik’s pressure  finally told in the 45th minute when YOUNG glanced home a Thomson corner kick.  Half Time: Penicuik 1 Whitehill 1  Penicuik started the second half where they left off and within two minutes they took the lead. Blaikie got past three defenders and sent  over a deep cross to substitute PATTERSON who took one touch and stroked the ball into the net from twelve yards. In the 65th minute  Patterson won the ball and laid it off Somerville who saw his powerful shot blocked by keeper Young, he crossed rebound to the back  post where Lough headed it back across goal but the ball was thumped clear by Williams. In their next attack, Young denied McCallum  blocking his strike for a corner. Penicuik doubled their lead in the 67th minute when a high ball by Devlin deceived Murray and  McCALLUM pounced to slip the ball past Young. However Penicuik’s celebrations were short lived when two minutes later, a neat  interchange of passing between Manson and Connelly opened up the Penicuik defence allowing ANDERSON to score from close range.  The visitors now had their tails up and Penicuik had Bejaoui tom thank when he was at full stretch to turn away a strike by Manson.  Minutes later, Blair came close for Whitehill and play switched to the other end when substitute keeper McGinley was alert to cut out a  dangerous Thomson corner kick. Then in the 82nd minute, following a throw in to Whitehill, Blair laid the ball off to CONNELLY who  coolly picked his spot to score the equaliser. Final Score: Penicuik 3 Whitehill 3
