Penicuik 3 Rosyth 0 Penicuik: Bejaoui, Devlin, McDermott, McCallum, Young, Barr, Gay, Jancyzk, Lough, Somerville, Lister Subs: Liddle, Blaikie, Patterson, Meikle Rosyth: Wortley, O’Connor, Kay, Hamill, McCulloch, Duffy, Goodwin, MacMillan, Hampson, McDiarmid, Morrison Subs: Ogg, Johnstone, Robertson, Murphy The game started evenly until the 9th minute when a poor clearance by Rosyth’s keeper Wortley was pounced on by Lough, but his lob over the keeper came back off the crossbar. In the 17th minute, a surging run by Barr ended with his strike flying high over the bar. One minute later, Lough came close with a header off a Gay cross from the right wing. Then at the other end Hampson shot weakly into the arms of Bejaoui. In the 34th minute, another surging run by Barr set up Lough, but a last gasp tackle by O’Connor saved the day for Rosyth. Just before half time, a Lough diving header off a Gay free kick was well saved by Wortley. The rebound was headed by McCallum straight back into the Rosyth keeper’s arms. Half time: Penicuik 0 Rosyth 0 Two minutes into the half and Penicuik had keeper Bejaoui to thank when he brought off an instinctive one handed save to deny Hampson. Penicuik took the lead in the 52nd minute when McCALLUM, at the back post headed home a Gay corner kick. Three minutes later, another Gay corner kick caused the Rosyth defence real problems that forced keeper Wortley to punch clear. The ball fell to Lister thirty five yards out but his first time volley went just wide of the target. In the 64th minute, Penicuik doubled their lead when a searching cross by Gay was bundled into the net by LOUGH. In their next attack, another Gay cross from the right wing was cut out by keeper Wortley at the second attempt. In the 72nd minute, the game was put to bed when DEVLIN smashed home a thirty five yard volley that fizzed past keeper Wortley. In the 87th minute, Rosyth almost pulled a goal back, but Hampson’s strike was brilliantly saved by Bejaoui. Right on full time, the game flared up when O’Connor cynically chopped down Barr off the ball, but neither the referee nor his stand side assistant were aware of the incident and no action was taken.
