Two minutes later, a pinpoint diagonal ball by Brown picked out Brian Ross, but his well stuck shot hit the side netting. At the other end Lister came close but keeper Murray got a hand to the ball to turn the ball away for a corner. In the 12th minute, a long throw in to Fauldhouse was headed on by Donnelly, but his effort went inches wide of the post. In the 18th minute, Bejaoui was at full stretch to tip a header on to the post for Meikle to clear. Minutes later, a corner to Fauldhouse was headed down by Love, but Bejaoui again pulled off a great save. Then in the 25th minute, a clever ball over the top of the Fauldhouse defence by Jancyzk set Lister free and he was pulled down in the box by Watson who was sent off. McCALLUM converted the spot kick sending Murray the wrong way. Ten minutes later Gay picked out McCallum with a diagonal pass, but McCallum’s first time strike went narrowly wide of the target. In their next attack, Gay set up Lough, but his attempt at a lob was comfortably saved by Murray. Fauldhouse started to apply pressure on the Penicuik defence three attempts on goal were well defended by the visitors. In the 42nd minute, a corner to Fauldhouse was handled by Lister who was red carded and a penalty awarded. However, Bejaoui out guessed Donnelly to save the spot kick and Meikle cleared. Half Time: Fauldhouse 0 Penicuik 1 Thirteen minutes into the half and Bejaoui had to be alert to get down and save a strike by Brown. On the hour mark, determined work by Brian Ross set up a chance, but the ball was blasted high over the bar. Two minutes later, Lawson was booked for a dangerous two footed tackle on Gay. Minutes later Bejaoui was again called into action to save a shot by Brown. Then in the 76th minute, Bar got past Lawson, but the full back pulled him down in the box, and having been booked earlier, he was sent off. McCALLUM competently converted the penalty kick. Then in the 84th minute, a cross by Devlin was headed wide by Lough. Penicuik hit the woodwork  in the dying minutes of the game when Lough’s curling strike from the left corner of the penalty box hit the junction of the bar and post. Then Barr set up McCallum for his hat trick, but somehow he managed to miss from four yards much to his embarrassment. A final attack by the home side caused panic in the Penicuik defence, but eventually the danger was cleared. . Into injury time and Jancyzk set McCallum free on the left, but the strike saw his effort beat keeper Murray and crash back off the post. Final Score: Fauldhouse 0 Penicuik 2
