Sauchie created the first chance of the match in the 9th minute when McCulloch slipped and Kelly took advantage as the ball broke to him, but his shot was well saved by Bejaoui.  Ten minutes later Penicuik had the ball in the back of the net but Jancyzk was ruled offside. In the 23rd minute a free kick to Sauchie just outside the Penicuik penalty box was blasted high over the bar. Then Sauchie attacked down the right wing from where Ash crossed low and hard into the box. McCulloch stretched out a boot to deflect the ball inches past the upright for a corner kick. One minute later, Ash hit a tremendous shot from just outside the penalty area and Bejaoui was relieved to see the ball skim the top of the crossbar. In the 33rd minute the best chance of the game fell to Sauchie when a neat interchange of passing saw Samuel set up Morgan but he dragged his shot a couple of yards wide of the far post. Half Time: Sauchie 0 Penicuik 0 In the 56th minute, Penicuik came close when McCallum set up substitute Ross, but his effort flashed inches past the post with keeper Dolan beaten. Immediately afterwards, Cunnison saw his powerful shot deflected away for a corner to Penicuik. In the 65th minute, Penicuik were applying some sustained pressure with four consecutive corner kicks that resulted in a Burrell strike going just wide of the target. One minute later the play swung to the other end and Bejaoui had to be alert to save a strike by Ash. In the 72nd minute, Syme broke up the left wing for Sauchie and crossed the ball into the box. Ash got his head to the ball but failed to hit the target. One minute later, Penicuik had the ball in the back of the net when a Jancyzk corner was headed home, but referee Millar adjudged that the keeper had been fouled. In the 86th minute, a Gay free kick from thirty yards got past the defensive wall and keeper Dolan had to scramble across his goal to turn the ball away. Right on full time a deflected shot by Sauchie saw Bejaoui dive into a ruck of players to smother the ball. Full time: Sauchie 0 Penicuik 0
