Following a corner to Penicuik, Maybole broke quickly from defence and Bejaoui did well to block the first strike on goal, but ALLEN following up slammed the ball home. In the 12th minute, another swift break from defence saw Patterson chest the ball down but his first time volley went wide of the target. Three minutes later, an inch perfect cross by McCallum was instantly controlled by Killin, but keeper Barclay pulled off a tremendous save to turn the ball round the post for a corner. From the corner, Cunnison’s glancing header flashed inches past the post. In their next attack, a clever reverse pass by McPartlin picked out Gay who saw his shot blocked by Barclay and then  the rebound was struck wide of the goal by McCallum. At the other end, Maybole again broke quickly from defence, but McDermott came to the rescue for Penicuik, blocking a Patterson strike. In the 24th minute, Bejaoui pulled off a great save to deny Allen. In the 35th minute, Penicuik lost possession just outside their penalty box, but an excellent tackle by Cunnison saved the day for Penicuik. Penicuik equalised in the 44th minute, when two shots were blocked and the ball was slipped to McPARTLIN who coolly stroked the ball into the bottom corner of the net. Half Time: Penicuik 1 Maybole 1 Seven minutes into the half and a powerful shot by Parris was well saved by Bejaoui. One minute later, a Maybole header came back off the crossbar, the rebound was struck for goal and Bejaoui, at full stretch, managed to get a hand to the ball and the danger was cleared. In the 60th minute, Ross played the ball up the line to substitute Rennie who outpaced his marker, crossed the ball low into the six yard box where KILLIN nipped in to slot the ball home. In the 68th minute, Penicuik should have scored again, but McCulloch somehow contrived to miss an open goal after being set up by McCallum. Two minutes later, the same player showed good control to turn quickly in the box, only to see his shot blocked and cleared. Penicuik did double their lead in the 77th minute when LISTER latched on to a McCallum cross to blast the ball into the roof of the next for his first competitive goal for the club. Penicuik switched off momentarily and were punished in the 82nd minute when despite a fine save by Bejaoui, PATTERSON was on hand to head home the rebound. However, Penicuik restored their two goal advantage in the 86th minute when McCULLOCH headed home from a Gay corner kick. Three minutes into injury time and a Patterson volley flew narrowly over the bar. Full Time: Penicuik 4 Maybole 2
