However, once Penicuik got over the early shock they were level nine minutes later when a Jancyzk corner to the back post was headed back across goal by Ross and KILLIN’s diving header hit the back of the net. In the 13th minute a fine run up the left wing by McCallum saw him cross the ball into the six yard box, but keeper Shaw did well to gather the ball under pressure. Minutes later, a surging run by Ross ended with strike that flew high over the bar. In the 23rd minute Grant set up goal scorer Wright but is tempting cross was well defended by Young for a corner. At the other end, Killin had a chance, but headed wide of the target. In their next attack, some excellent first time passing by Penicuik ended with a Ross strike that went inches over the bar. Then in the 32nd minute, an intricate passing move by Penicuik saw Lister ghost past defenders to cross to the back post where ROSS headed home. Three minutes later, Penicuik added a third when a quickly taken corner kick caught out Camelon. The ball was headed out wide from where Ross crossed the ball back in. YOUNG got in a header that the keeper blocked, but he made no mistake from the rebound. Just on the half time whistle, Camelon were claiming for a penalty when Bunyan stood strong as Grant went down in the box but referee Stuart was unmoved.Half Time: Camelon 1 Penicuik 3In the opening minute of the half, Penicuik were caught cold again when Camelon attacked up the right and GRANT, slotted the ball past advancing keeper Hill. Camelon now had their tails up and the tempo of their game visibly increased. Minutes later a deep cross to the back post saw Scott get his head to the ball, but his effort went wide of the target. Then a long range effort by Marty Wright drifted wide of the post. In the 58th minute, referee Stuart completely ignored a blatant push in the back by McLaren on Jancyzk on the edge of the penalty box. Shortly afterwards, McCallum got on to the end of a Cunnison cross, but his header went straight to keeper Shaw. Penicuik had overcome the early Camelon pressure and again were starting to dominate the game, and in the 80th minute, Jancyzk beat keeper Shaw with a fine volley only to see Benton clear the ball off the line. Immediately afterwards, Camelon went down to ten men when Jones went off injured with all substitutes used. Penicuik had the ball in the back of the net in the 85th minute when McCallum’s header came back off the bar and Penicuik trialist slotted home, but was ruled offside. At the other end, a long range effort by Ure was comfortably saved by Hill. With two minutes to go, an excellent strike by the Penicuik trialist was well saved by Shaw.Final Score: Camelon 2 Penicuik 3
