Having weathered the early storm, Penicuik gradually worked their way into the game and won a penalty kick when keeper Murdoch fouled Killin. The spot kick was competently converted by McCALLUM. The injured Killin took no further part in the game. In the 21st minute, a cross from the right wing was chested down by Diack, but Bejaoui rushed out to smother the ball at the striker’s feet. Immediately afterwards, with Penicuik claiming a free kick, Bradley saw his shot go just wide of the goal. In the 27th minute, a Gay free kick deceived everyone  but the ball flashed inches wide of Murdoch’s left hand post. Ten minutes later, McCallum came close with a left foot strike but Murdoch was well placed to save. The remainder of the half was evenly contested with both sides failing to break down resolute defences. Half Time: Pollok 0 Penicuik 1 Pollok started the second half with all guns firing and Bradley came close on two occasions. Then in the 60th minute a curling Bradley cross went inches past the upright. At the other end, Penicuik were inches away from a second goal when Dickson just failed to get a toe to a McCallum cross after he got round the back of the Pollok defence.  However, Mc Callum’s effort to get the ball across ended his participation in the game as he limped off with a knee injury. Then in the 64th minute, Pollock were awarded a penalty when Cunnison was adjudged to have fouled Diack. Bejaoui saved the spot kick, the rebound was hit against the post and the ball was then slotted home by substitute BARR amid loud claims for offside. Minutes later, a soft free kick to Pollok was tipped over the bar by Bejaoui. From the corner, Bejaoui pulled off another great save and Penicuik broke quickly from defence when it was Murdoch’s turn to rush from goal to deny McPartlin. In the 75th minute, a third consecutive corner to Pollok was laid back to just outside the box where McLennan hit a pile driver that whistled a foot wide of the post. Pollok piled on the pressure but some excellent defending and top drawer goal keeping by Bejaoui keep the home side at bay to gain Penicuik a well-earned replay at Penicuik Park next Saturday. Final Score: Pollok 1 Penicuik 1
