The home side started the better of the two sides, sharper on the ball and quickly closing down the visitors. However it was Penicuik who had the first chance when a cross into the box by Ross was struck first time by Killin but his effort went just wide of the target. In the 8th minute, following a corner to Penicuik, Fauldhouse broke quickly from defence and only a timely interception by Lister denied Fauldhouse the first scoring chance.  Then a 40 yard strike by Ross for Fauldhouse flashed past Bejaoui's right hand post. One minute later, referee Walker harshly booked Deans and set the tone for the rest of the game. Fauldhouse took the lead in the 15th minute when GALLAGHER rose above the Penicuik defence to head home a Wilkins cross from the right wing. Penicuik came close five minutes later when Killin's glancing header went just past the upright. Penicuik were gradually getting back into the game and won a series of free kicks, but failed to take advantage. Referee Walker continued to be over zealous and by half time, without a single bad tackle in the game he had booked a further five players and the half ended with both teams evenly matched. Half Time: Fauldhouse 1 Penicuik 0 Into the second half and Penicuik had a great chance to equalise when Patterson was set free one on one with keeper Stewart, but Stewart stuck out a leg to deflect the ball away for a corner. Penicuik continued to press but the Fauldhouse defence held firm. In the 60th minute, Scott received a red card for the first bad tackle of the game and referee Walker had no option than to send him for an early bath. Penicuik then earned a series of corner kicks, but were poorly delivered and caused Fauldhouse little or no problems. Then Penicuik were awarded two free kicks on the edge of the Fauldhouse box, the first of which was well defended and the second deflected narrowly wide of the goal. Penicuik should have equalised minutes later, when Barr broke down the left wing and crossed the ball into the six yard box where McPartlin got his boot to the ball, but Stewart blocked is effort on the goal line. Then Killin had a chance when the ball bounced around in the six yard box, but he miskicked and the danger was cleared, shortly afterwards, Stewart pulled off a great one handed save to deny the visitors. The game was put to bed in the 79th minute when a corner to Fauldhouse was headed on and Bejaoui tipped the ball away, but was headed back in by FAIRWEATHER and despite a desperate attempt by McPartlin on the goal line, the ball ended up in the back of the net. A lacklustre Penicuik side failed to produce their good form of late, and Fauldhouse ran out deserved winners.
