Then a shot by Jaconelli dipped over the crossbar. In the 11th minute, Millar sent over a cross to the back post where Ross was waiting to pounce, but Hunter glanced the ball away for a corner to Penicuik. From the corner, Ross saw his strike deflected away for another corner kick. This time keeper Bailley punched the ball away under pressure from McCulloch. Minutes later, Jaconelli had a chance but blasted the ball high and wide of the target. In the 18th minute, a long clearance by Bejaoui was headed on by Millar to McPartlin who volleyed the ball first time only to see Bailley turn the shot round the post for another corner kick. Then a McDermott free kick flashed inches past the upright with Bailley beaten. On the half hour, a flowing move by Bo’ness saw a strike by A Scott saved by Bejaoui. Three minutes later, the same player was one on one with Bejaoui, but the big keeper spread himself well and blocked Anderson’s shot. At the other end, a McDermott cross was curled just wide of goal by Ross. Immediately afterwards Bailley denied McPartlin with a fine save. The visitors took the lead in the 44th minute when a long high punt up the park was misjudged by McCulloch and JACONELLI pounced to volley the ball past Bejaoui. Half Time: Penicuik 0 Bo’ness 1 Into the second half and another long high ball almost created another goal for the visitors, but Bejaoui was well placed to save A Scott’s effort. In the 51st minute, a great surging run from his own penalty box down the right wing by C Scott left three Penicuik players in his wake and his low cross into the box was slammed home by HYSLOP. In the 60th minute, another high ball caused some miscommunication in Penicuik’s box and Bejaoui scrambled across his goal line to turn the ball away for a corner. Shortly afterwards, Penicuik made a tactical change moving McCulloch up front with Millar and Cunnison dropping into his more familiar position of centre half. The effect was immediate with McCulloch adding that extra punch up front and Ross came close with a shot that flew inches wide of the goal. Then a corner to Penicuik saw Cunnison have all the room in the world but his header went a yard wide of the left hand post. Two minutes later, Cunnison again got his head to a corner kick but this time it went a foot over the bar. Penicuik reduced the deficit in the 73rd minute when Ross picked out MILLAR with a great diagonal pass, and for the first time in the game, he got the better of Campbell and lobbed keeper Bailley. Four minutes later the game was all square when a lovely passing move was finished off by McPARTLIN curling McCulloch’s lay off into the bottom corner of the net. Three minutes later, Penicuik had a great chance to take the lead, but McCulloch’s diving header off a Millar cross failed to hit the target. With two minutes to go, substitute Anderson had a chance to win it for Bo’ness, but he dragged his shot just past the post.   The game then went to penalties, with the first two being saved by the keepers, but Bo’ness scored their remaining spot kicks whilst Penicuik missed their last penalty to give the visitors victory. Final score: Penicuik 2 Bo’ness 2 (Bo’ness 3-4 pens)
