In the opening minute of the game, a high ball deceived makeshift centre back Millar but Haldane produced a great
save to deny Feeney and the follow up strike was blocked by Kerr amid shouts for hand ball but the referee was
unmoved. Then in the 3rd minute, a long clearance by Kerr set up a chase for the ball that resulted in PALICZKA
out muscling Morrison to slot the ball under Walker into the net. Minutes later, an Armadale free kick just outside
the box went narrowly over the crossbar. In the 13th minute Haldane did well to hold onto a powerful strike from the
left corner of the box. Armadale started to build pressure on the Penicuik defence and only a great block by Millar
and a save by Haldane kept the visitors at bay. However their patience paid off in the 28th minute when FEENEY
powered home a great header off a pin point Rarity cross. In their next attack, a testing cross from Feeney on the
left wing was headed wide of the goal by Mauchline. At the other end, Bonthrone came close for Penicuik with a 25
yard drive that went inches wide of the upright.
Half Time: Penicuik 1 Armadale 1
Seconds into the half, Haldane pulled off the save of the game to deny Armadale. In the 59th minute an attempt to
lob Haldane was tipped over the bar by the keeper. In the 54th minute, a vicious volley by Roberts was spilled by
Haldane and the rebound was tapped home from close range. However referee Hall ruled the goal offside with no
protests being made. Minutes later, Knight was carving his way through the Armadale defence only to be pulled
down from behind. The resulting free kick was well defended by Armadale. Then in the 57th minute, Roxburgh was
blitzed in the box by Rarity who was yellow carded when a red seemed more appropriate as last man and denying
a goal scoring opportunity. However the advantage was thrown away when Gay blasted the ball past the keeper's
right hand post. Ten minutes later, Feeney came close with an effort that fizzed past the post. Immediately
afterwards, a McPartlin cross was headed by Knight straight to keeper Walker. In the 75th minute, Paliczka was set
free on the left, He drove in on goal, but instead of having a strike, he tried to lay the ball off and Walker was able to
cut the ball out comfortably. The visitors took the lead in the 78th minute when FEENEY converted a penalty kick.
Armadale road out the last minutes of the game to take all three points.
