Killin, Haldane Glenrothes started the game brightly with Penicuik on the back foot and the home side took the lead in the 5th minute when a defensive clearance fell to SIMPSON on the edge of the box and his strike went in off the post. Five minutes later, Penicuik were awarded a free kick on the right. With everyone expecting a cross into the box, Barr picked out Knight on the left wing. He beat his marker but saw his strike blocked by keeper Roberts who gathered the ball at the second attempt. In the 22nd minute, a rare Penicuik attack saw Roxburgh close down Moffat to win the ball, but Roberts rushed from goal to thump the ball clear. Minutes later, keeper Roberts again did well under pressure from Reid to cut out a dangerous McDermott free kick. Penicuik gradually got back into the game and the home side were punished for a series of fouls, Martin and Lesley being the main culprits. In the 28th minute, Penicuik came close with a header that flashed inches over the crossbar off a Barr free kick.  Then came a hammer blow for Penicuik when a ball over the top of Cunnison was kept in play by Lesley. He sent over a deep cross to the right edge of the box where SHAW struck a superb first time volley past Bald to double the home side's lead. However, one minute later, Penicuik attacked up the right wing and a cross to the back post was hit by Knight, but the ball crashed back off the bar into the six yard box from where McPARTLIN knocked the ball into the net.  Immediately afterwards, another free kick to Penicuik was partially cleared and McPartlin saw his hook shot go narrowly over the bar. Penicuik were now in charge, forcing Glenrothes back in defence and in the 37th minute, REID rose above the home defence to head home a McDermott corner kick. Three minutes later, a Cunnison cross into the box was struck by Knight and, for the second time in the game, he saw his effort crash back off the bar and cleared. Half Time: Glenrothes 2 Penicuik 2 From the restart, Penicuik continued the way they finished the first half, piling the pressure on the Glens. Cunnison broke up the right and his cross into the box saw Roberts dive bravely at the feet of Roxburgh to smother the ball. In the next Penicuik attack, Barr's effort on goal was comfortably saved by Roberts. In the 50th minute, McPartlin was pulled down just outside the box, but the Glenrothes defensive wall held firm, blocking the free kick. The rebound fell to Barr, but his attempt to lob the keeper went over the bar. In the 63rd minute Penicuik had a chance, when the ball was crossed into the penalty box, but a weak header allowed Roberts to save easily.  Five minutes later Glenrothes conceded yet another free kick, but Penicuik failed to get any advantage and the danger was cleared.  In a rare sortie into Penicuik territory, Glenrothes earned a corner kick. Substitute McKie took the corner and Moffat got his head to the ball but couldn't hit the target. At the other end, Brigain sent over a great cross into the box where substitute Draper was inches away from heading the ball home with what would have been his first touch. In the 77th a volley by Barr flew wide of the goal. Minutes later, a break down the wing by Glenrothes caught out the Penicuik defence, but no one could get on to the end of the cross into the box and the final strike on goal went high and wide of the target.  The last chance for a winner came Penicuik's way in the 86th minute when they were awarded another free kick on the edge of the box. This time the ball was curled over the top of the defensive wall, but Roberts was well placed to save. Final Score: Glenrothes 2 Penicuik 2
