In the opening minute, Ballingry attacked down the right when Schiavone got past McDermott, but Meikle came
across to boot the ball away. Two minutes later a superb strike by Lawrie was brilliantly saved by Bald as he tipped
the ball over the bar. In the 7th minute a Brigain shot was blocked by keeper Roberts and the rebound was picked
up by Knight, but his curling right foot shot was again well saved by Roberts. From Roberts' clearance, Gilfillan
tested Bald with a powerful strike, but Bald was up to the task. Immediately afterwards, Schiavone got past
McDermott and laid the ball back to Lawrie who saw his shot flash over the crossbar. In the 11th minute, Roberts
denied Harvey with a fine save. Barr then returned the ball to Harvey only to see his second strike deflected on to
the crossbar and away for a corner. Then a sweeping move from defence by Penicuik involving Roxburgh, Harvey
and Knight ended with a shot by Knight that was comfortably saved by Roberts. At the other end Bald again saved
another Lawrie pile driver. In the 22nd minute, following a free kick to Penicuik, the ball was cleared to the edge of
the box. McPartlin picked up the loose ball, looked up and picked out ROXBURGH who got the better of Anderson
to slot the ball home from close range. In the 24th minute a Ballingry free kick was struck by Lawrie only to see the
ball crash back off the bar and cleared. On the half hour, Harvey came close with a shot that he dragged wide of the
keeper's left hand post. Then another Lawrie free kick flew inches over the bar. In the 40th minute, Penicuik
attacked down the right and the cross into the box was slipped on by Harvey to ROXBURGH who first timed the
ball into the bottom corner of the net.
Half time: Penicuik2 Ballingry 0
In the 51st minute, Roxburgh set up Harvey in the Ballingry penalty box, but he was dispossessed and Ballingry
went on the attack. Penicuik struggled to clear the ball from the danger area and paid the penalty when substitute
Shaun GRAHAM slammed the ball home. However, three minutes later, Penicuik restored their two goal lead when
Roxburgh got past Anderson and cut the ball back to BRIGAIN who slammed the ball into the roof of the net. In the
57th minute, a ball out of defence was picked up by Roxburgh who picked out Harvey with his cross, but Harvey
was ruled offside. In the 76th minute, a free kick to Penicuik saw Roxburgh flick the ball over Anderson and hit a
first time volley, but Roberts was well placed to save. Then a great tackle out on the left by Brigain saw him win the
ball and drive up the wing. He looked up, curled the ball round the last defender and HARVEY side footed the ball
into the back of the net, giving Roberts no chance. Two minutes later, another excellent move by Penicuik saw
substitute Thomson inches away from knocking a Harvey cross into the net.
