STUART CAMPBELL MOBILE PHYSIO
Multiple Sclerosis –
People with MS often request physiotherapy when they experience loss of
movement or the ability to perform functional activities.
Emphasis during assessment is focused on what each person can and does
achieve, with the MS individual taking an active participatory role in goal-
setting and treatment, in order to encourage self-management.
Stroke –
The main focus of physiotherapy after a stroke is to restore muscular control
and mobility, thereby increasing the individual’s confidence and
independence to perform activities of daily living.
There is strong evidence that stroke survivors benefit from exercise
programmes in which functional tasks are directly and professionally trained.
