LATEST NEWS GRASSROOTS FOOTBALL UPDATE | COVID-19 The Scottish FA has been encouraged to see so many clubs engaging with their local community, enabling people to return safely to a restricted programme of football training and activity. As we continue to plan ahead, the Grassroots sub group of the Scottish FA Coronavirus Joint Response Group has created tentative plans providing a framework to inform Affiliated National Associations and Leagues of the steps which could allow a return to competition to take place, given any future approval by the Scottish Government. TRAINING RESTART AUGUST 2020 The club has met all the protocols required as set out in Phase 3 guidance by both the Scottish Government, the SFA and the Pyramid Restart Working Group to allow us to make a partial return to training for both the First team and the Under 20’s. The club have taken the decision, regardless of player age that all players will be covered by the adult protocols. There are very strict rules regarding training in line with the current guidance and this means that all sessions are behind closed doors and there is no admittance to the public, this includes Committee members to maintain the integrity of the training facility. The only exception to this will be the Covid-19 Co-ordinator Gary Stein. All training sessions will take place within the confines of Penicuik Park. The pavilion will only be open for the respective coaching teams to collect training equipment and for no other purpose. The U20’s will restart training on Saturday 1st August and going forward will train on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The First Team will restart training on Saturday 8th August and going forward will train on a Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. These arrangements may be subject to change as the nature of training outlined in the JRG update of 29 July progresses.
