Hawthorn at Keirs Park.
The
early
exchanges
were
fairly
even
with
the
action
flowing
from
end
to
end
until
the
hosts
broke
the
deadlock
with
the
match half an hour old, as Joe Kirby collected the ball and dribbled through the Cuikie defence before slotting it home.
The
second
half
saw
Penicuik
push
forward
in
search
of
an
equaliser
which
wouldn’t
come
until
the
seventy
minute,
when
Sam
Jones
met
a
Lumbert
Kateleza
pass
with
a
first
time
volley
that
flew
over
Hall
in
the
Hill
of
Beath
goal,
the
midfielder’s
13th
strike
of
the
season.
However
the
‘Haws’
were
not
to
be
denied
and
they
grabbed
the
winner
in
the
86th
minute
as
Lewis
Payne
squeezed
the
ball
past
Cordery
with
the
aid
of
the
post.
A
disappointing
afternoon
for
the
Cuikie
as they ended the match with 10 men, as Greg Page received a straight red card in the 89th minute.
