by the referee but the shot for goal went over the crossbar. In the 15th minute a corner to Penicuik saw Somerville get the
header in but his effort was eventually cleared. At the other end, a cross into to the box was headed by Finley but flashed
a yard wide of the target. Five minutes later Ponton attacked down the left and he crossed the ball into the box,
Somerville rose to head the ball and appeared to be pushed in the back by O’Byrne the ball broke out to Kateleza who cut
inside but his quick left foot shot crashed off the crossbar and was cleared for a corner. From the corner Kateleza turned
quickly in the box to shoot but his effort went straight at keeper Hughes. In the 27th minute Penicuik had the ball in the net

poked the ball past Allison from twelve yards. Shortly afterwards, a Penicuik free kick gave Barr a chance, but his volley
went high over the bar. In their next attack, Barr crossed the ball into the box and Somerville’s first time strike flashed
inches over the bar. On the hour mark, Somerville again came close, but this time his strike went narrowly wide of the

crossbar. Kilbirnie took the lead in the 73rd minute when O’BYRNE hooked home a Scullion corner kick that saw the
visiting fans invade the pitch to join in with the celebrations. However, Penicuik responded immediately when Kateleza got
round the back of the visitors defence, cut the ball back but Somerville’s effort was blocked and BARR smashed the
rebound past Hughes for the equaliser. Then in the 75th minute, O’Byrne was red carded for verbal abuse directed at
referee Smith. Immediately afterwards, a flowing move by Penicuik culminated with a powerful Ponton strike that hit the
side netting. In the 82nd minute took the lead when HAMILTON slammed home a Kateleza cut back. Just when Penicuik
thought that would be the winning goal, they again failed to defend a set piece corner kick and FINLAY volleyed home the
