Forbes There was a large crowd inside Penicuik Park for the East of Scotland Cup Semi Final tie with the home side looking to atone for their exit at the same stage of the Fife & Lothians Cup, and the visitors looking to reach a second final in three seasons. The visitors settled quicker but failed to trouble Allison with the exception of a couple of tame long-range efforts. The home side started to find their feet and the game came to life on the half hour mark when Allison produced a great save from a Sibanda effort. The home side responded three minutes later as Kateleza found Sinclair racing into the box and the striker beat the onrushing Lennox to the ball, his shot looked to be going wide at the far post but PONTON  appeared to volley home from a tight angle. HT- Penicuik 1 Dundonald 0 Manager Harvey shuffled his pack at half time replacing Williams and Sinclair with Baptie and Somerville and it took just three minutes for this pair to have an impact as SOMERVILLE met Baptie’s corner at the near past and headed past the despairing Lennox. The visitors responded with a double change of their own as McKenzie and Meikle replaced Sibanda and Moffat after 52 minutes, but the home side were totally dominant and extended their lead in the 57th minute, It was that man SOMERVILLE again notching his 50th goal for the club as he headed home McCrory-Irving’s cross past Lennox from 12 yards out. The home side continued to dominate but didn’t turn their good football into more goals and it was Dundonald who pulled a goal back with a close-range MCKENZIE header with 12 minutes to go. However it was  Penicuik’s day and they move on to the final next Saturday.
