However as the game progressed, Penicuik gradually asserted their authority with their sharp passing game starting to control the flow of play and in the 12th minute a powerful shot by Somerville was saved by keeper Lennox. One minute later, another excellent move by Penicuik saw Lennox save a strike by Jones. Penicuik took the lead in the 23rd minute when Kateleza set up McCrory-Irving, but his net bound strike hit JAMIESON who recovered quickly to turn and slot the ball home from close range. Minutes later Jamieson almost made it two when his header from a corner kick went just wide of the left hand post. On the half hour, a clever ball over the top of the Penicuik defence set Walton free but he was ruled offside by the stand side assistant. Immediately afterwards, a clever chip by Somerville saw Jamieson one on one with Lennox, but the striker dragged his shot wide of the goal. Half Time: Penicuik 1 Dundonald 0 Three minutes into the half, and McCrory-Irving battled to win the ball, strode forward, but his effort flew high over the bar. Then in the 54th minute, Penicuik had keeper Allison to thank when a long ball from defence picked out Campbell but his strike was superbly saved by the keeper. The visitors had upped their game and were exerting pressure on the Penicuik defence and in the 60th minute a long ball from defence was headed on by Smith to CAMPBELL who made no mistake this time slotting the ball past Allison for the equaliser. In the 70th minute, a moment of madness when Martin scythed down Ponton from behind and Ponton got to his feet to push Martin to the ground resulting in both players being booked. Then Campbell broke free but was adjudged to have fouled Allison a she came to gather the ball. In the 77th minute, Penicuik had a strong claim for a penalty when Kateleza was felled from behind after keeper Lennox failed to gather a corner kick. Minutes later, full back Drummond came to the rescue for The Bell when he headed a cross to the back post away for a corner just as Kateleza was ready to pounce. At the other end, a swift break by Dundonald caught out Penicuik, but Smith’s strike flashed over the bar. Then Penicuik took a corner kick quickly but a last gasp tackle by Wedderburn saved the day for Dundonald. Penicuik were piling on the pressure and in the 84th minute, Dundonald were caught napping when a quickly taken short corner to BAPTIE saw his slightly deflect shot dip over Lennox to put Penicuik in the lead. One minute later, a free kick to Dundonald saw Smith head the ball on to Meikle but his close range shot was brilliantly turned away by Allison. Play then swung to the other end and clever work by Kateleza set up substitute HAMILTON who outpaced his marker to drill the ball past Lennox into the far corner of the net. In the 90th minute, a sweeping move by Penicuik saw Kateleza denied a goal he deserved when Drummond pulled off a great blocking tackle. The final action came in the third minute of injury time when Ponton saw his strike from the edge of the penalty box crash back off the bar with Lennox beaten. Final Score: Penicuik 3 Dundonald 1
