Trialist 15. Trialist Penicuik entertained Bo’ness United hoping to gain at least a point to secure a third place finish in the Super League behind Bonnyrigg Rose and Linlithgow Rose and were delighted to take all three points in an entertaining game. Bo’ness were the visitors to Penicuik Park for Penicuik’s last ever game in the Super League and with league placings as well as pride at stake the home side started strongly creating early chances with the partnership of Kateleza and Sinclair causing problems for the experienced BU’s centre half pairing. It was SINCLAIR who broke the deadlock in the 19th minute after persistence from Forbes, charging down a clearance, the ball broke to Sinclair and he fired home past Murphy to net his first goal for the club. Despite dominating the home side couldn’t get a second and as the visitors forced their way into the game it was MILLAR who grabbed the equaliser with 28 minutes gone. Half Time – Penicuik Athletic 1 Bo’ness United 1 Into the second half and it was the home side who started better and were rewarded on 55 minutes after Sinclair unselfishly squared the ball to an unmarked PONTON who only had keeper Murphy to beat sand did so with a calm finish. Manager Harvey freshened up his strike force with Somerville and Sampson replacing Kateleza and Sinclair on the hour mark in search of the third goal and was rewarded in the 88th minute when SOMERVILLE made it three as he headed home Baptie’s corner at the near post. The visitors grabbed a consolation through HUNTER in injury time to make it 3-2 and that’s how it finished to secure three points and a third place league finish for the home side.
