Two minutes later, another excellent attack by Jeanfield culminated with a superb double save by Bald to deny the Swifts. In the 13th minute, Barr dispossessed Gordon in the midfield, and his first time pass picked out Patterson. He raced past his marker and struck for goal, but Bruce dived low down to his right to tip the ball onto the post and the danger was cleared. Penicuik gradually worked their way into the game, and Cameron came close in the 23rd minute with a header that went narrowly wide of the target. Penicuik took the lead four minutes later when Barr's tenacity saw him battle through two tackles and lay the ball off to PATTERSON who coolly slotted the ball past Bruce. However the visitors got a deserved equaliser three minutes later when HOLDEN ghosted past three Penicuik defenders to slot the ball under Bald into the net. Immediately afterwards, a fine move by Penicuik saw McPartlin's strike go narrowly past the post.  Then a Cameron strike was brilliantly turned round the post by Bruce. From the corner, Cunnison's header hit the crossbar and went over for a goal kick. Half Time: Penicuik 1 Jeanfield 1 Jeanfield again started the sharper of the two sides and in the 60th minute, Bald was well placed to save a header off a corner kick. Immediately afterwards, a weak pass back by Thomson to Bald forced the keeper to rush from goal and clear at the feet of Kelly. In the 66th minute, danger man Holden drove in on goal and let fly with a fierce shot, but Bald pulled off another superb save. Penicuik made a change, bringing on Roxburgh for Cameron and he started to cause problems for the visitors. In the 69th minute, Roxburgh took on the Swifts defence in the penalty box and was upended for a penalty kick. KERR competently converted the spot kick. Minutes later, a Kerr throw in was flicked on by McDermott to Patterson whose right foot strike flashed a foot wide of the upright. In their next attack, McPartlin drove from midfield to the edge of Jeanfield's box, but his shot lacked power and Bruce gathered easily. In the 78th minute a well worked Penicuik free kick saw Barr's powerful strike flash inches past the junction of the post and crossbar. Penicuik worked hard and upped the pace of their game, closing down the opposition much more effectively than in the first half and ran out comfortable winners in the end. Final Score: Penicuik 2 Jeanfield 1
