Magliveras Dental Practice
Dimitri Magliveras, Dip DS, Athens
Dimitri came to Edinburgh in 1982 after qualifying in Athens in 1981, and joined the
Practice as an associate before buying the Practice in 1989. He regularly attends post
graduate courses and specifically enjoys cosmetic dentistry.
Outside work, Dimitri enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters and two
grand daughters, going to the theatre, music and travelling. He especially likes returning
to Kefalonia where his family links are.
Dimitri plays golf and is a member of the East of Scotland Dental Golfing Society along
with Craigielaw and Mortonhall Golf Clubs.

Ruben Vara Pompa, Lic Odont, Madrid
Ruben joined the Practice in March 2010, having previously worked in Edinburgh. In
1992, Ruben gained his degree in medical nursing before studying dentistry and
qualifying in 2006. He enjoys cosmetic dentistry and root canal treatments.
Outside dentistry, Ruben loves being in Scotland, enjoys travelling and regularly
returns to Spain. He also enjoys reading, music and theatre.
Trisha Anderson
Trisha joined the practice, part time, in 2006, having worked previously in another
practice, totalling over 24 years experience. She has a daughter, Heather, and a daft
boxer dog! Doing occasional shifts in surgery assisting the dentists, her main role is
reception and ensuring the smooth running of the Practice. Trisha solely undertook
the hard task of gaining our Good Practice Award, and also organised and project
managed the Practice’s move to Bridge Street.
When not at work, or running around after Heather, she enjoys socialising, eating out,
travelling and enjoys keeping fit.
Sally Keenan BDS Dundee
Sally graduated from Dundee in 1985 where she was awarded the Dall medal for
excellence in porcelain work. Initially she worked in the Dundee dental hospital
restorative and children's orthodontics departments. Since then she has worked in
general practice and joined us part time in 1995. Sally also works in Edinburgh. Her
special interests are cosmetic, treating children and patients with anxiety. She is
married with 3 daughters and enjoys playing tennis, skiing and spending time with
friends and family.
Lyz
Lyz joined the practice part time in 1987. She became full time in January 1991.
She enjoys her job and patients (most of them - only joking!).
When not working, she enjoys socialising, photography, music and taking long walks
with her dogs Lexi and Bo.

Nicola Cooney
Karen is a fully qualified and registered dental nurse, having started her
career here in 2000. She qualified in 2002 at Edinburgh's Telford College.
Karen works primarily with Ruben in the upstairs surgery, but does the
occasional shift on reception and with the other dentists.
Karen and her husband Alan are keen scuba divers and can often be found
along the east coast of scotland enjoying the underwater world, and
frequently travels abroad to various hotspots for divers.
Sue is our receptionist and has been with the practice since 2006. She has
previous experience in Dentistry and also the Bank and Standard Life. Sue
has an excellent rapor with our patients and is a well liked and respected
member of our team.
Away from work Sue and her husband have 2 daughters and a son. She now
has a grandson Josh who keeps her busy! She enjoys walking her dog, gardening,
eating out, spending time with friends and family and loves to travel.
Mary Masterton
Mary graduated from Dundee in 2010 and has been working in general practice
since then. Early in 2013 she became a member of the Faculty of Dental
Surgeons (MFDS RCS Ed). She enjoys all aspects of dentistry and works as
part time dentist.
Mary and her husband and young son live in Edinburgh and enjoy socialising
and trips back to Ireland.
Nicola joined the Practice in 2012 and has been Dental Nursing for 21 years.
Her Main duties are assisting the dentists within the surgeries. Nicola is
married with two daughters and enjoys spending time with them in her spare
time. She also enjoys keeping fit.
Jennifer Crosbie
Jenni joined us in February 2013. She is a qualified registered dental
nurse and also one of our Childsmile Nurses, guiding children under six
in oral health. She has been a dental nurse for eleven years and lives
with her husband and cocker spaniel.
Jenni enjoys the cinema, eating out and keeping fit.
