In their next attack, Grady came close when  his strike on goal went over the bar. Then McCallum headed over when it seemed easier to score. However, in the 11 th  minute,  McCALLUM opened the scoring when his mishit cross looped over Bald and went in off the post. Immediately afterwards, Penicuik almost equalised when a McDermott header went inches over the bar. In the 18 th   minute, Burgess denied Harvey when he saved his shot that was heading for the top corner of the net. Three minutes later, Burgess was again in action when he had to rush from goal to smother the ball. In the 23 rd  minute, Bald was adjudged to have handled the ball just outside his box, but Bonnyrigg failed to take advantage from then free kick. Then Bald pulled off the save of the game when he instinctively blocked a header inside the six yard box. In the 43 rd  minute, a delightful passing move sliced open the Bonnyrigg defence and just as he was about to shoot, Dunn brought Killin down from behind on the edge of the box and was red carded. However the defensive wall held firm and the danger cleared. Half time: Bonnyrigg 1 Penicuik 0 Five minutes into the second half, Harvey showed neat ball skills when he flicked the ball over the defender's head only for Burgess to rush from goal and grab the ball off the toe of Killin. In the 55 th  minute, a Killin free kick was headed down to the bottom corner of the net, but Burgess was quick to dive low to his left and beat the ball out. Three minutes later, a Bonnyrigg corner was headed powerfully net bound by Ritchie, but struck one of his own players and was booted clear. As the half progressed, Penicuik began piling on the pressure, and the deserved equaliser came in the 59 th  minute. Following a throw in to Penicuik, the ball was cleared to the edge of the box from where Brown clipped it over the defence and MONTGOMERY ran in to head the ball over the advancing Burgess. Penicuik continued to press with Montgomery in particular causing problems for Bonnyrigg down their right flank. In the 75 th  minute, Montgomery took on Fell, but on this occasion the defender came off best.  Then a swift break by Rose was foiled by Meikle who came across to clear the danger. Minutes later, Bald was called into action to save a well struck shot from the edge of the box. In 84 th  minute, a Penicuik corner saw a header crash back off the crossbar and cleared. At the end of the day a draw was a fair result although Bonnyrigg could have sewn the game up in the opening minutes and will rue those missed chances 04.08.10 South League Cup Bonnyrigg 1 Penicuik 1
