Penicuik took the lead in the 9 th  minute when HARVEY nipped in ahead of his marker to head home a Barr free kick. One minute later, keeper Staszewski pulled off a superb save to deny Walker. Then a powerful header from a Penicuik corner kick was headed off the goal line. In the 18 th  minute with Penicuik piling on the pressure, two corner kicks were well defended by Bocca. Ten minutes later, in Bocca’s first real attack of the game, Duff saw his left foot shot comfortably saved by Bald. On the half hour keeper Staszewski again saved Bocca with an excellent save low down to his right. In Penicuik’s next attack, Millar only had Staszewski to beat, but again the keeper pulled off a great save. With Penicuik’s pressure relentless, Riley blasted over the bar after good work by McDermott. Just before half time, McDermott again got past his marker, but from his cross, Millar headed narrowly past. Half Time: Penicuik 1 Bocca Seniors 0 Into the second half, and Harvey almost doubled Penicuik’s lead when he was inches short of knocking home a McDermott cross. In their next attack, Killin turned his marker to cross the ball into the box, but Harvey’s strike was partially blocked and Staszewski gathered easily. Then a Killin effort was saved by the keeper. In the 62 nd  minute another fine passing move was let down by a poor final ball. At the other end, substitute keeper Clark had to look lively to turn a Wright free kick round the post. One minute later, a testing Gay cross was beaten out one handed by Staszewski and cleared. Then Campbell picked out Montgomery with an inch perfect diagonal pass, but his shot flashed inches wide of the target. In their next move Penicuik split the Bocca defence and when it seemed easier to put the ball in the back of the net, desperate defending saw to shots blocked and cleared. Killin then saw his strike brilliantly saved by Staszewski and the shot from the rebound hit the bar. Penicuik finally got that elusive goal in the 77 th  minute when a delightful piece of skill saw HARVEY flick the ball over the head of Staszewski. Three minutes later, a move started by Campbell deep in his own half, was finished off when Gay’s cross was headed home by CAMPBELL who had continued his run from midfield.
